Buffalo, NY Indian Student Sachin Aji Bhaskar Pleads Guilty to Sexual Enticement of a Minor
March 5, 2020 - Indian student Sachin Aji Bhaskar (23) from Buffalo, NY pleaded guilty today to charges of sexual enticement of a minor.
According to the charges filed in the case, Sachin Aji Bhaskar, a citizen of India on a US Student Visa communicated with a 11 year old girl from Buffalo, NY by text and email.
Sachin Aji Bhaskar was arrested on November 20, 2018 and was held in custody.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Sachin Aji Bhaskar:
...on August 11, 2018, the defendant, using a social media application, contacted a girl in Buffalo who was then 11 years old but claimed to be 15. In messages on the app, Bhaskar confirmed that the girl would lose her virginity to him. The defendant subsequently picked her up by car, and returned her home approximately three hours later after having sex with her.
Potential Penalty
The charge against Sachin Aji Bhaskar carries a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum penalty of life in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.Sentencing for Indian student Sachin Aji Bhaskar is scheduled for June 17, 2020.
